Three Factors Affect Olive Leaf Dose

Olive leaf should be taken in the right dose. If olive leaf is taken in a low dose it would not be effective.
Olive leaf dose depends on three factors. The type of the disease, the severity of the disease and the dosage form.

1-The Type Of The Disease and Olive Leaf Dose
The dose used for diabetes is different from the dose used for hypertension. For example, in diabetic patients they should take one cup of olive leaf tea three times daily. This dose is based on the old Egyptian holistic medicine. On the other hand, hypertensive patients shows improve in their systolic blood pressure when they took 1 gm per day of dry olive leaf extract.

2-The Severity of Illness and Olive Leaf Dose
You should take small dose of olive leaf extract to maintain good health and support your immunity.  The dose should be increased in more severe and acute conditions. When treating flu as an example, you should take higher dose like 1000 mg daily. In other words, as the condition is more severe you can increase the dose. The good news is that Olive leaf extract is still safe even in very high doses.

3-The Type Of Olive Leaf Extract (The Dosage Form)
There are two types of the extracts. Olive leaf extract from dried leaves, and the other type from freshly picked olive leaves. The potent antioxidant one is the second type, extract from freshly picked olive leaf, as it contains a high concentration of phenol compounds and olueropin. On the other hand, we should not forget the conventional olive leaf tea which has been used for centuries.
Thus, we should consider all these factors the type of the disease, the severity of the disease and the type of olive leaf extract with each dosage forms before using Olive Leaf as an alternative therapy for any of our illness.
